Network Hardware Resale Unveils ‘GovLink’ Program to Meet
Growing Government Demand for Pre-Owned Networking Equipment
GSA Contract Status Reinforces NHR’s Support of Federal, Local and State Government Agencies Along with Addition of Sales Veteran Mark Fell to Lead GovLink Efforts
Santa Barbara, Calif. - October 9, 2006 - Network Hardware Resale (NHR), the leading provider of pre-owned networking equipment, today introduced its GovLink program, which is targeted specifically to meet the growing demands for pre-owned and refurbished networking equipment in federal, state and local government environments across the U.S.
As part of the new program, NHR has been awarded GSA contract status to streamline the purchasing of pre-owned and refurbished networking equipment at savings of 50 percent to 90 percent off manufacturers’ list prices. With more than $100 million in inventory, NHR maintains the largest supply of pre-owned Cisco equipment, including switches, routers, IP telephony, access servers and security hardware. NHR can provide almost any Cisco equipment within three days and many of the most popular products are available for next-day delivery.
According to Rick Stevens, vice president of marketing at NHR, the GovLink program will enable the company to build on its momentum in this vital vertical market segment. “The government sector has been one of our top market segments for many years, so we’re thrilled now to officially intensify NHR’s efforts to better serve federal, state and local agencies nationwide,” he said. “As an ‘approved vendor’ on the GSA contract list, NHR is well positioned to gain significant traction as a viable alternative equipment source for any government networking application.”
At the same time, NHR has announced the addition of Mark Fell as strategic and government sales executive. In this capacity, he will manage the company’s GovLink program. Fell comes to NHR from ISERA Group LLC, a leading provider of scheduling and resource optimization software, where he focused on serving the government sector. “We’re excited to have Mark join the NHR team,” added Stevens. “His background and contacts in the government sector should go a long way toward ensuring the future success of our GovLink program.”
NHR currently serves more than 220 governmental agencies with complete network fulfillment, disaster recovery, testing and sparing as well as asset recovery solutions. All networking equipment sold by NHR is fully refurbished, which entails a full inspection, testing and reconditioning. In addition, NHR provides a one-year, advanced replacement warranty on all products as well as support from Cisco-certified technicians.
NHR’s GSA contract is GS-35F-0717R. To view the company’s GSA schedule, go to www.gsaadvantage.gov. The contract is valid through June 30, 2010. For pricing or additional information, please contact a government sales specialist at gov@networkhardware.com or call 800-251-6497.
